PantoneTools

Privacy

PantoneTools is built around local browser workflows. The short version: color inputs, uploaded images, generated palettes, and saved colors are not intentionally sent to PantoneTools servers by the tools themselves.

Color values and converter inputs

Converter inputs such as HEX, RGB, CMYK, HSL, Lab, Pantone references, and RAL references are processed in your browser. The converter logic runs client-side and does not require an account, a cloud project, or a server-side color history.

Uploaded images

Image-based tools are designed to read the selected image locally in your browser, extract colors on a local canvas, and discard the temporary preview when the page state is cleared. Do not upload confidential artwork to any browser tool unless you are comfortable processing it on the device you are using.

Saved colors and browser storage

Saved colors, recent colors, theme preference, and tool defaults may be stored in your browser using localStorage or similar browser storage. This keeps the workflow fast and private, but it also means saved state is tied to that browser and can be removed if you clear site data.

Analytics

PantoneTools should only use privacy-respecting aggregate analytics if analytics are enabled for production. Analytics must not collect color inputs, uploaded images, generated palettes, saved colors, or account data. If no analytics provider is configured, the site does not collect product analytics beyond normal hosting logs.

Hosting logs

Like most websites, the production host or CDN may process basic request information such as URL, timestamp, user agent, IP address, and status code for security, abuse prevention, uptime monitoring, and debugging. These logs are infrastructure-level records, not a color-workflow history.

Cookies

The core tools do not need advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. Functional preferences can be stored locally in the browser. If analytics or monitoring tools are added later, they should be configured to avoid invasive cross-site tracking.

Accounts and payments

PantoneTools currently does not require user accounts, team workspaces, payment profiles, or uploaded project libraries. If those features are added later, this policy should be updated before launch of that feature.

Production data caution

Even though the tools are designed for local processing, do not paste unreleased brand specifications, confidential vendor data, or regulated customer information into any web tool unless your organization has approved that workflow.
